Just had to share this beautiful 1920s gown from Bellasoiree on Etsy with you all. Just stunning and it even retains it’s original art deco decorative button.

Well, wasn’t I thrilled to see my Swing Fashionista co-writer and friend, Sharon Davis, splashed across a subway billboard for Coke in New York! Spotted this on Facebook and thought I share it here. Putting a bit of vintage glamour in to everyone’s day as they catch the train. Go Shaz!
Hi vintage lovers! I have been busy putting more items into my Etsy store – Violet’s Vintage Emporium – including some more 40s and 50s dresses, 40s rayon shirt, knitting patterns, vintage magazines and 4 pairs of 40s seamless stockings in mint condition and an amazing 30s wedding gown.
I’ve featured a few items here so I hope you enjoy looking. If you would like to keep up to date with all the listings, join my VVE facebook page.

Wonderful article in a 1939 Life Magazine about the new styles of shoes from Paris at the time. “Most popular among the spring shoe selection were the open-toe, open-heel slip ons which made “women clop when they walkâ€. Style experts claimed these shoes were too open to provide a good fit and made the feet larger.”

One of my favourite Australian designers is Allanah Hill. She has always had a very whimsical, retro feel to her clothing and accessory lines and this Autumn/Winter is no exception with some pieces inspired by the 30s, 40s and 50s. I am always scared to go into her store as I want to buy so many things!
I did get this lovely late 30s inspired ‘Busy in the Head’ silk blouse to wear with my wide flowing trousers. Has a great 30s resort feel to it. AH is also famous for her amazing knitwear. Much of it has a 50s look but there are some 30s inspired pieces this season too.
You can find Allanah Hill here.
