It’s getting cold!

Last weekend I was in Budapest Hungary for Lindy Shock, and just arrived in Stockholm Sweden for the Halloween Swing Camp, and I gotta say, it’s starting to get cold in Europe! Here in Sweden it’s also pretty dark – it amazes me every time! It’s 4pm and dark as night, and it’s only early November. Just thinking about Swedish mid-winter makes me shiver, so here are some wonderful winter coat illustrations from the 1930s to warm you up:

It seems Ralph Lauren’s take on the recession involves some neat references to the 1930s Depression, and I’m not complaining.

Paperboy caps, worn denim baggies, ladies in pinstriped three-pieces and plus fours… ring-a-ding-ding!! There were also a few pretty florals, if you care to look.

Ain’t We Got Style: Vanity Fair August 2009

What a wonderful editorial in the August 2009 edition of US Vanity Fair, recreating scenes from 1930s (ie: depression era) films. The movies shown here are They Shoot Horses Don’t They? (above), and below It Happened One Night, My Man Godfrey and Paper Moon.
